'People are fearful' - the reasons 'powerhouse' Arsenal are the team to beat.

There's little doubt why Arsenal are now many people's preferred choice to win the Premier League in the current campaign.

Look at their outcomes against Fulham and Crystal Palace compared to those same matches last season.

The Gunners have overcome all of them this time around, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they faded in the title race last season.

Impenetrable Rearguard

Arsenal's defensive strength is a crucial element why they are appearing strong to ultimately achieve their title goal.

They stand first for unbreached games (6), shots let in (3), attempts against (72), quality opportunities against (19) and anticipated concessions (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the finest in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Expertise

Their danger from dead balls is highly documented, but rival sides still struggle to stop the Gunners from these chances.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, a couple extra than any other side, with 69% of their goals resulting from these situations.

"Arsenal can do a bit of everything now. The whole team has a daunting aura. People are just fearful of them and it is excellent to see."

Title Potential

What is even more impressive about Arsenal's start to the campaign is they have also played Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United away from home and Manchester City at home - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they maintain victories, their historic competitors face difficulties. This marks the premier instance at this point of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The pressure was on head coach Mikel Arteta at the outset, having invested around £250m on eight summer signings in quest of that elusive first title since 2004.

But the spending has so far paid off in remarkable manner, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and having the most resilient defense, despite multiple injuries.

  • Shutouts in three consecutive Premier League games
  • Over six hours without conceding a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across various contests

Former players and experts have labeled Arteta's men as a "juggernaut, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now performing with confidence and resolve.
